Join the Friends of Gillette Castle in celebrating the historic Chester-Hadlyme ferry. This year, the Moodus Drum and Fife Corps will join the fun, providing a festive atmosphere at the Hadlyme ferry landing starting at 9:30 a.m. The Friends will also have light refreshments and flags to wave as we welcome the ferry from Chester. There will be a brief ribbon cutting ceremony with local luminaries and the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation, Garrett Eucalito. The highlight of the morning is a brief scenic cruise on the 76 year old ferry!
We suggest that visitors arrive early, park at Gillette Castle, and enjoy the 15 minute walk to the ferry landing via signage that will indicate the easiest route. The ferry parking lot is not large, and it fills up quickly.
Rain date: Sunday May 4, same time, same place!
